An Aussie Girl in Equatorial Guinea

About

I was born in a small country town in Victoria in the big island of Oz.IMG_7602

In my former life, I was a lawyer who passed the days following the same routine: jog, work, wine, sleep.

My husband and I have always loved travel, and have always traveled together.  We met when I was 20, in the ski fields of North Lake Tahoe.  It was a relationship that wasn’t meant to continue, but somehow, between the states of Queensland and Victoria, it did.

I suppose you could say that we were looking for a different life; a life other than the suburban norm.  In Equatorial Guinea, among the humidity and the haze, we have found it.

We are fortunate to have the opportunity to travel often, to places I used to pine after when looking at photos in my Lonely Planet guides.  It is not something that will last indefinitely  – but we’ll hang onto it for as long as we can.

I was, and remain, someone who was looking for adventure.  And when handed the opportunity to find it, on an otherwise boring workday in 2014, I (we), said yes.
